The marketeers have captured a technical term and used it to describe very fast electronic communications.
We agree with the International Telecommunications Union’s recommendation. Recommendation I.113 of the ITU Standardization Sector defines broadband as a transmission capacity that is faster than primary rate ISDN, at 1.5 or 2.0 Mbps.
ISDN is a symmetrical service. There’s nothing there about only being fast one way. That’s why we don’t offer anything slower than 2 Mbps both ways.
